Sad

UberX-Files

She was silent the entire trip. Her silence punctuated by long sighs, which turned to quiet sobs when I asked if she was all right. She shook her head. I said, “You can tell me”, as the car stopped at destination. “I can’t.” she said, shaking her head tears were flowing now. I reached for an orange and said, “This will make your sadness go away.” She cupped the orange like her life depended upon it, smiled, wiped her tears then gently got out of the car. Man, such sadness! The raw emotion so thick, I can almost touch it.

Lazy

Pershirazi Dudes
uberX-Files

These dudes are Persians. Very good natured and loud and funny and drunk. I said, “I know a Persian girl before, she’s from Shiraz.”Shiraz!” They shouted out loud. “Shirazi women are lazy! They lounge around the whole day doing nothing.” I said “Really?”Really man, that’s what they’re known for!” I said, “You know what I’m going to call her and tell her “Hi! You know what? You’re lazy! And then I’ll hang up the phone!” We laughed so loud about this ‘til destination. “You’re cool.” They said. “And so are you dude,” I said, then drove away….

Los Angeles
California

Got news good and bad. First the bad - been extremely busy! The good? – Plenty of stories to tell. For several months now, I’ve been driving with uber. It’s like taxi service but you use your own car. It’s an opportunity to see the city while earning a little bit of money. Cali is so spread out and has everything: the ocean, mountains, deserts and snow, all reachable within a day. It’s a way to be out of the house too – I mean, away from all my kids’ crying and whining. Haha so be prepared of hilarity from the road!
