This was an act we kept repeating at an International Furniture Festival in Singapore when potential buyers come by: “Are you telling me these are real ostrich eggs?” Melanie gasps as she points at the huge eggs under the glass-topped wicker table. I would enthusiastically reply, “Yes absolutely!” The buyers usually join in the conversation at this point. I tell you, “The Nest” was one of the bestsellers in that exhibition. “But you’re killing them. You should have let the eggs hatch!” one lady rebuked. Melanie was dumbfounded. “Oh I was acting too!” she jokingly slapped an almost crying Melanie…..
